My home still smells like smoke. When will it go away?

SERVPRO of Scarsdale / Mount Vernon was called in after week went by and this home was still smelling like smoke. We cleaned up the home by following these steps:

1. Washed all surfaces
2. Used a HEPA filtered air filtration
3. Neutralized odors with ozone
4. Thermal fogged areas for deodorization

The owners figured the smell would eventually dissipate but that wasn't the case. Protein odors (burning meat on a stove) do not go away, but eventually, your nose will get used to the smell. Calling the certified technicians of SERVPRO was the best thing they could do to get rid of the smell.
